Biography

Dr Chatrath is a fellowship trained surgeon specializing in both Joint Replacement and trauma surgery. He grew up in India and completed his medical training graduating top of his class. He completed his orthopedic residency from Indore, India which is one of the most prestigious medical schools established in 1878. He was awarded multiple gold medals for his academic performance in Medical School and residency.

Dr Chatrath then pursued further training in Canada with pioneer surgeons at the University of Ottawa and Dalhousie University in Halifax. He continued to pursue academic excellence and wrote book chapters, research papers, and helped teach residents. This helped him become an expert in Joint replacement and trauma surgery. Dr. Chatrath is Board Certified in orthopedics by the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada.

Being very family-oriented, Dr. Chatrath enjoys treating patients of all ages from children to seniors and strives to provide quality, comprehensive, and compassionate medical care. He has young kids and is able to relate with parents only suggesting surgery as a last resort. On the other hand, Dr. Chatrath is specialized in treating musculoskeletal conditions affecting the aging population. He focuses on the care of senior orthopedic patients and their recovery. He specializes in minimally invasive joint replacement, partial joint replacement, joint preservation, trauma surgery, hip arthroscopy, knee arthroscopy, computer-assisted surgery, and patient-specific instrumentation procedures.

Dr. Chatrath uses the newest techniques in orthopedic surgery to treat patients' joint pain with even higher precision. This includes Robotic surgery and using customized 3D printed instruments for shoulder and knee replacement surgery. This customized technology allows each surgery to be planned in advance and tailored to the patient.

His expertise in Anterior approach or muscle-sparing hip replacement surgery results in faster patient recovery and is widely sought after by his patients.

In his free time, Dr. Chatrath enjoys spending time with his family, reading and cycling.
